Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to manage procurement, sourcing, purchasing, and price negotiation while overseeing import and export processes. The ideal candidate will ensure cost-effective purchasing strategies, supplier relationship management, and compliance with international trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement & Sourcing:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and reliability.
- Conduct supplier audits and negotiate contracts to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business goals.
- Purchasing & Price Negotiation:
- Execute purchase orders, ensuring accurate specifications, timelines, and cost control.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and lead times with suppliers to achieve optimal cost savings.
- Maintain and analyze purchasing records, price trends, and market conditions.
- Import & Export Management (Mandatory):
- Handle international trade operations, including customs clearance, documentation, and compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and shipping agencies to ensure timely and cost-effective imports and exports.
- Monitor international trade policies and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, and international trade (import/export).
- Knowledge of global trade compliance, Incoterms, and supply chain regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: production control, inventory management, and logistics.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field – advantage.
- Experience with supporting production planning by ensuring materials is available as per schedule.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to optimize replenishment planning and avoid shortages.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to manage stock levels and prevent overstock or stock outs.
- Assist in logistics coordination, ensuring smooth material flow across the supply chain.
