Production engineer / Manager

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Production Engineer to support the scaling of our manufacturing operations. The Production Engineer will bridge the gap between R&D and manufacturing, ensuring that products are designed for efficient assembly, tested for quality, and manufactured at scale in a cost-effective manner. This role will focus on process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across all production lines.
Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Optimization
- Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Identify bottlenecks and apply Lean/Kaizen methodologies for continuous improvement.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality.
Technical Support to Manufacturing
- Provide real-time engineering support for assembly, integration, and testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on production lines.
- Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and transition from prototype to mass production.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure processes meet regulatory and industry standards (ISO9001, CE, UL, RoHS).
- Collaborate with QA teams to define inspection methods, acceptance criteria, and corrective actions.
- Monitor and report production KPIs, yield rates, and rework trends.
Documentation & Standards
- Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing process evidence and records.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, Supply Chain, and CM/ODM partners to optimize manufacturability.
- Provide DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) feedback to design teams.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials and components meet required specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, or process engineering.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies: plastic injection Molding, PCB assembly (SMT), wiring harnesses, and system integration.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- High proficiency in Excel (data analysis, KPI tracking) and ERP/MRP systems.
- Skilled in CAD/engineering software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in high-volume electronics or electro-mechanical product manufacturing.
- Familiarity with international compliance and safety standards (CE, UL, FCC).
- Background in supplier management and working with global contract manufacturers.
