Role Overview

As the Deployment Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, orchestration, and successful execution of Cust2Mate’s smart cart rollouts worldwide. You will lead and mentor a team of Implementation Specialists, ensuring that every project from a local pilot to a global multi-store rollout – is delivered with technical excellence, predictable timelines and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Rollout Management: Design, own and continuously improve the global deployment “Playbook,” establishing standardized methodologies from site survey to successful go-live.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, scale, and mentor a team of Implementation Specialists, defining clear KPIs and ensuring technical readinessand enabling the team to handle complex field and integration challenges.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Act as the central coordination pointbetween R&D, Product, Sales, and Customer Operations to align technical delivery with client requirements and prioritize field feedback.
  • Stakeholder & Partner Management: Serve as the senior escalation point for retail partners and vendors, leading steering committees and managing third-party deployment partners for large-scale.
  • Technical Governance: Oversee the integration of IoT devices with diverse Retail POS systems, ensuring compliance with security and performance standards.
  • Process & KPI Optimization: Drive deployment efficiency and reduce “Time-to-Value” by defining and tracking deployment KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, first-time-right installations, rework rate), and implementing automation, refined training, and advanced troubleshooting tools.
  • Resource & Logistics management : Own deployment planning, budgets, equipment logistics, and resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered on time , within scope and within budget.
  • Deployment Handover & Stabilization: Ensure structured handover from Deployment to Support / Customer Operations, including documentation, knowledge transfer, and defined hyper care periods post go-live.
  • Risk & Readiness Management: Proactively identify deployment risks, site readiness gaps, and operational constraints, and implement mitigation plans ahead of rollout execution.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in Deployment Management, Technical Project Management, or Professional Services within a global Tech company.
  • Industry Context: Proven experience in Retail-Tech, IoT, or Hardware/Software integrated solutions. Deep understanding of POS systems and store operations is a major advantage.
  • Leadership: At least 5 years of experience managing technical teams, such as Field Engineers or Implementation Specialists.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong grasp of Networking (LAN/WLAN), IoT architecture, API integrations, and Cloud-to-Edge environments.
  • Methodology: PMP or Agile certification is preferred. Experience managing complex, multi-site rollout timelines.
  • Communication: Exceptional English (verbal and written). Ability to present complex technical roadmaps and deploy status to C-level executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Execution Mindset: A “hands-on” leader who is comfortable diving into technical details while maintaining a high-level strategic view of global deployments..
  • Ability and willingness to travel to client locations as required.
